Conference
Corrosion Control of Public Infrastructure and Utilities
The negative impacts of corrosion on infrastructure, both civil and industrial, are far-reaching and warrant considerable attention and action from government and industry. Corrosion strikes at the very core of our economic nervous systems – Rails, Bridges, concrete and Steel- reinforced Concrete structures, Pipelines, Water Treatment Facilities, Storage Tanks, Power Transmission lines, Telecommunication infrastructure, Road Ways, marine vessels, tunnels along with industrial facilities such as boilers, wastewater treatment plants, oil and gas production facilities, are all in the throes of the deteriorating effects of corrosion in its varied forms.
Besides imminent Structural Failures, Financial Losses (Yearly accounting for about 3 - 5 % of Gross Domestic Product-GDP), Negative Impact on Environment and Injuries or fatalities, it must be viewed much more from the standpoint of sustainability.
This conference seeks to bring corrosion impact into focus as it relates to public and industrial policies formulation on infrastructure and consequent maintenance costs, safety, improved operational efficiency, profitability and overall sustainable development.
Accordingly, papers are being invited from technocrats, industry chiefs, scientists, engineers, economists, researchers, academicians, legal minds to rally on the way to sustainably mitigate corrosion on infrastructure and industrial assets at the NICACON 2023 Conference discussed under the sub-themes.
